We’re rolling out the red carpet for Lachlan Walton, a true superstar in our school! With a heart as big as their smile, his unwavering respect for others is evident in the way he consistently demonstrates kindness, integrity, and compassion—not only toward his peers but also toward teachers and staff. He approaches every interaction with empathy and sincerity, making those around him feel heard, valued, and supported.
Lachlan truly shined during our recent excursion, where he was highlighted for his outstanding leadership and positive attitude! Whether stepping up to help others, fostering teamwork, or simply spreading good vibes, he made a lasting impression on everyone.
His ability to lead with humility and inspire through action sets a remarkable example for those around him. Let’s give a big round of applause to Lachlan—a true role model and an all-around awesome human!
Year 9 Science Investigation – Exploring Our Local Stream
Our Year 9 students recently took their learning outdoors with an exciting science investigation on the health of a local stream. Equipped with testing kits, they measured pH levels, temperature, and water current while also observing the surrounding plant and animal life. A highlight of the day was using Mrs. Hall’s high-powered microscope to examine their findings up close! It was fantastic to see students engaging in real-world environmental science, applying their skills in a hands-on, meaningful way. Well done to all involved! ???
Over the past few weeks, we have been heading to Awapuni Stadium for athletics practice. The students have been improving their techniques in running, jumping, and throwing. Their hard work and determination have led to impressive progress, with great improvements in their times and distances. It has been amazing to see their continued positive attitude when practicing their skills and striving to achieving their best performances. We’re excited to see them showing off their skills at Athletics Day this week!
The Year 7 and 8 students have been diligently learning greetings and introductions in French. Over the past few weeks, they have also been mastering the alphabet, numbers, and days of the week. It's wonderful to see them embracing the challenge of learning a new language, and their progress has been truly impressive.
Our Term 1 excursion to Guthrie Smith, located on the beautiful Lake Tutira, was a fantastic day of teamwork and resilience. The students tackled a challenging low ropes course, excelled in the "Spaghetti Tangle" activity, and navigated an orienteering adventure under the hot sun. Lynne, our guide, praised the deep trust and connection among our Gisborne Campus children. A big thank you to the parents for their invaluable support and participation.
Please be aware that all students Year 3-13 will require a OneSchool Global branded school bag from the start of 2025.

Student Driver / Rider Policy
PURPOSE
It is expected that students will normally travel to and from school using school provided transport, or where
this is not available, in private vehicles under the supervision of a responsible adult. However, this policy
aims to clarify what measures must be implemented for the safe transportation of students if the Campus
Management decides to permit the riding of bicycles, e-scooters and e-skateboards, or for students to drive,
or be driven by a student, to or from the Campus.
