Clover is proving herself to be an exemplary OSG student, earning this well-deserved spotlight for her dedication and resilience. No matter how tough things get, she tackles challenges head-on with a smile, a can-do attitude, and unstoppable energy. Her positivity is contagious, and her determination is truly inspiring. Keep shining, Clover – you’ve truly earned this recognition, and nothing can hold you back!

It has been a great two weeks in the senior learning centre with a strong focus on our daily planning and reflection. We have been working on what is important in a reflection and how we can use our reflections to make today a better day. We have seen wonderful improvement in the diligence of students towards their learning and look forward to continuing this progress throughout the year.
At OSG, we use an exceptional writing programme called Writer's Toolbox. One feature that students particularly enjoy is the feedback tab, which tracks their progress and offers suggestions for improving their writing. This tool empowers students to enhance their skills and produce polished pieces of work. Year 7 and 8 students have been working diligently with this tool to craft fictional pieces that they will publish and present in their display books. These skills can then be transferred to writing in other contexts.
The class has just completed a mini cross-curricular assignment titled “About Me”, showcasing our Maths, Writing, Art and Typing/IT skills.
We wrote about some of our personal favourites, focusing on different sentence starters and conjunctions, as well as putting a vowel in every syllable of each word we wrote.
Also, we used our Geometry skills to draw a symmetrical self-portrait and design a creative block letter for the first letter of our names.
Publishing our writing with no spelling or typing errors was the hardest part of our learning – a real workout of our proofreading skills which had many of us in the Learning Pit!
Teamwork in action! Year 5-6 and Year 3-4 joined forces for CCA this week, taking on fun challenges that tested our communication and collaboration skills. From hoop races to building the longest paper chain, we learned that planning and teamwork make all the difference!"
While teamwork has very much been our focus these past weeks, we also saw moments of independent innovation! Here’s Taylor Crisp with his creative attempt to break a world record with his paper plane—proving that thinking outside the box and problem solving is just as important as collaboration!
From 100 students, 20 teams, and nearly 2,000 minutes of Zoom collaboration, our top seven teams in our OSG Global Perfect Pitch competition have been announced!
Congratulations to all the students for making the heat rounds and to the students for making the finals! Gisborne Campus is so proud of you!

Student Driver / Rider Policy
PURPOSE
It is expected that students will normally travel to and from school using school provided transport, or where
this is not available, in private vehicles under the supervision of a responsible adult. However, this policy
aims to clarify what measures must be implemented for the safe transportation of students if the Campus
Management decides to permit the riding of bicycles, e-scooters and e-skateboards, or for students to drive,
or be driven by a student, to or from the Campus.
