We love having our 2025 Year 3's visiting Oneschool Global Gisborne Campus! They are fitting into our class so well - it is fantastic to have a large group of students to add variety to our groups. We have been impressed with the way they are already showing Oneschool Values with everything they do, and can't wait to see what they will achieve next year!
On a Tuesday morning during Period 1, we have Extended Homeroom in the Secondary Learning Centre. This time is dedicated to learning dispositions, academic goal setting, student persona development and planning. Homeroom teachers take a structured approach to supporting students how to learn how to learn and achieve. Our students have been developing from basic learning plans into detailed and specific daily academic plans with reflections and actions for improvement.
Our Year 3 to 11 students had an incredible time at Wheels Day, zooming around the church car park with their bikes, scooters, and skateboards. The excitement was in full gear as they weaved through a tricky cone course, showing off their skills and competing for the fastest times.
To add to the fun, spot prizes were awarded throughout the day, recognizing everything from creative wheel designs to impressive maneuvers. The energy and laughter from everyone made it a day to remember. A huge thank you to Auburn for orginising Wheels day and to all who participated and supported this exciting event!
Last week, our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed an exciting science lesson led by our very own Mrs. Hall. They enthusiastically followed clear instructions to mix ingredients and create a spectacular "elephant toothpaste" explosion. The students marveled at the colorful, foaming reaction and eagerly discussed the science behind it. Following this successful experiment, they moved on to crafting "bouncing bubbles," carefully blowing and counting the number of bounces on their hands. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Hall for sharing her expertise and inspiring our eager Year 7 and 8 learners.
Tilly, Sarnz and Theodore have been practicing their cursive handwriting since the beginning of the year and at times, have found themselves in the learning pit with letter formation and how to link the letters. Mrs Coker was so impressed with the progress they have made that she took them to show their amazing work to Mrs Walters. Mrs Walters was impressed with their tidy letter formation and the care they had taken with their handwriting. Fantastic work Tilly, Theodore and Sarnz!
? ¡Increíble! Our Year 5-6 superstars have absolutely smashed mastering numbers 1-20 in Spanish! ??✨ Watching them count, pronounce, and show off their skills with confidence has been nothing short of inspiring.
? Bravo, Team Rockets! Your determination and enthusiasm are shining bright—this is just the beginning of your Spanish adventure. ? Next stop: numbers 21-100—¡vamos! ?

Student Driver / Rider Policy
PURPOSE
It is expected that students will normally travel to and from school using school provided transport, or where
this is not available, in private vehicles under the supervision of a responsible adult. However, this policy
aims to clarify what measures must be implemented for the safe transportation of students if the Campus
Management decides to permit the riding of bicycles, e-scooters and e-skateboards, or for students to drive,
or be driven by a student, to or from the Campus.
