    INTRODUCING OUR 2025 STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council has been selected from the different year groups across the school. Each student put their expression of interest forward and were required to complete a 1 - 2 minute presentation on their suitability for the role if more than one student per year group were interested.

The role of the student council is to provide student voice from the wider student body to feedback to the Student Leadership Team. The student council meetings happen every 6 - 8 weeks.

    Congratulations to these students.

    STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

    Tennessee_Griffiths_Yr_9.jpg

Over the past few weeks, Tennessee has made an impressive effort towards achieving a high standard in her studies. Her overall approach to staying focused, and her positive attitude is helping her achieve the goals she has set for herself this term.

She has been making a notable impact on the Senior Learning Centre with her friendly demeanour and her willingness to collaborate with her peers and teachers.

Tennessee also had a fantastic outing at Athletics Day in Hawkes Bay, demonstrating that Gisborne can punch above it's weight. One of the many highlights of her day was sprinting ahead of the pack to claim victory in the 200-meter Year 9-13 race.

To top off a great couple of weeks for Tennessee, we are extremely proud that she  confidently put her name forward for the Year 10 student council representative, and we would like to congratulate her on this appointment to the Student Council.

    UPDATE FROM THE SECONDARY

    Secondary_Spotlight.jpg

It was lovely to have everyone on campus to celebrate the 2024 academic achievements for our Gisborne Campus, and what a year it was! I mentioned during my Recognition of Excellence speech in December how the leaving Year 13 students had left a legacy of academic rigor. This is exactly what we celebrated at Graduation. I am filled with pride to see so many of our diligent students being recognized on the regional stage for their hard work and notable achievements in 2024. When we consider what has been achieved at a regional level this is the best of the best out of all year level students across OneSchool Global New Zealad campuses.

Orlando Blampied – Top 10 Year 13 Performance, Honours student, Gold Endorsement, Year 13 Runner up in Statistics and Year 13 Runner up in Physics.

Astrid Wallace – Honours student and Year 13 Runner up in English

    Porsha Vigis - Honours student

Declan Crisp – Year 12 Top in Physics

Kansas Forrest – Year 11 Top in Design and Visual Communications, Gold Endorsement

Tara Vigis – Year 11 Top in Physical Education, Year 11 Top in Science, Year 11 Top in English, Platinum Endorsement and Year 11 Runner Up to Top Scholar.

    These are absolutely outstanding accomplishments!

We had an awesome time in Hastings last week for Athletics Day. It was great to see everyone getting involved and doing their best. Thank you so much to Hastings campus, you were fabulous hosts and what fantastic facilities you have to offer.

    Student Driver / Rider Policy

    PURPOSE
It is expected that students will normally travel to and from school using school provided transport, or where
this is not available, in private vehicles under the supervision of a responsible adult. However, this policy
aims to clarify what measures must be implemented for the safe transportation of students if the Campus
Management decides to permit the riding of bicycles, e-scooters and e-skateboards, or for students to drive,
or be driven by a student, to or from the Campus.
